What is Simplyfilm all about?
I was tired of reading mediocre articles online. Much less the about a subject I am passionate about - film. I knew there were really good writers out there, and that talent could be directed to entertaining, insightful and literate movie reviews. No fanboy stuff. No industry puppets. Just good writers who love movies.
That, and nothing attracts the ladies like telling them I have a web site!
How often is Simplyfilm updated?
New releases are published on Thursday or Friday of their release. If it is a preview screening, it will be published the day of the viewing rather than the day of the theatrical release. A new Podcast with a wrap up of the weeks reviews and features will be published every Sunday night. All reviews of new releases will be published by Sunday evening on the weekend of their release. I hope to give you more lead time as soon as I am able to get into the press screenings.

What's with this "we" business?
Honestly, I'm not sure. It just seems like the right thing to do. Right now, Simplyfilm it is a solo effort. Hopefully that will change in the future.
Why does your site kind of look stupid?
That isn't very nice. I worked really hard on this. Truth be told, I don't have any experience in web design or coding, so this is truly a labor of love and frustration. What makes your opinion so important?
Nothing except my over stimulated sense of self-importance. Honestly, the opinions I publish here are just that. I don't believe I hold any more truth about the stink factor of any given movie than anyone else. But with that said, I have a very good understanding of film and context and film history. I have also been told I express my opinions in a clear and understandable way. More than that is all the stuff of legend.
